Submission Guidelines

We welcome submissions and have a few guidelines to follow when submitting to the agency.

All submissions must be sent electronically with your covering letter in the body of your email and your sample pages attached as a Word or PDF document.

Please submit only to one agent. You can see what we are looking for (and what we aren’t looking for!) on our individual agent pages.

To submit to Sophie Hicks, please email your material to:

hicksoffice@sophiehicksagency.com

To submit to Sarah Williams, please email your material to:

williamsoffice@sophiehicksagency.com

Fiction submissions should include a synopsis, the first three chapters (or approximately 50 pages).

Non-fiction submissions should provide a detailed outline and at least one sample chapter of material.

Due to the high volume of submissions we receive, we cannot acknowledge receipt of material and, unfortunately, cannot provide editorial feedback. We read all submissions within 3-4 weeks and while we do our best to respond, this can sometimes be difficult. If you have not heard from us within 3-4 weeks of sending your material, sadly we could not find room on our lists for your work.

Please note that we are not currently accepting illustrated books for children.

We do not represent poetry or scripts for theatre, film and television.
