SARAH BANNAN

Sarah Bannan was born in Watertown, New York in 1978 and attended Georgetown University majoring in English (with a concentration in literature and literary history) and minoring in theatre. Following graduation from Georgetown, Sarah moved to Ireland in 2000. She has worked in various arts organisations, including the Irish Film Institute and the Lilliput Press. Since 2007, she has been the Head of Literature with the Arts Council. In 2010 – 2011, she completed the Faber Academy’s Novel Writing Course in Dublin.
Sarah married her husband, Duncan Keegan, in 2004 and they live in a small cottage in the north inner city of Dublin with their daughter. She is a regular contributor to the Irish Times. Her first novel Weightless was published to great critical acclaim by Bloomsbury in the UK and St. Martin's Press in the US, as well as being translated into several languages.
