Eoin Colfer is the author of the internationally bestselling Artemis Fowl, which was named the public’s favourite Puffin Classic of all time. The Artemis Fowl series has sold in excess of 20 million copies, translated into 40 languages and adapted into a Disney film.

Other titles include The Fowl Twins series, The Wish List, The Supernaturalist and the Legends series for younger readers. Eoin’s books have won numerous awards including The British Children’s Book of the Year, The Irish Book Awards Children’s Book of the Year and The German Children’s Book of the Year. The BBC made a hit series based on his book Half Moon Investigations.

In 2009, Eoin was commissioned by Douglas Adams’ estate to write And Another Thing, the concluding episode of the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy series, which became a worldwide bestseller. Eoin also writes crime novels featuring Irish bouncer Daniel McEvoy. The third and final book in his WARP sci-fi series was released in summer 2015.  

Eoin’s latest work for younger readers is the award winning picture book Imaginary Fred, a collaboration with acclaimed Belfast artist Oliver Jeffers. In 2016, Eoin Colfer's highly anticipated Iron Man young adult novel was released. In 2017, the latest collaboration between Eoin, Andrew Donkin and Giovanni Rigano was published to great critical acclaim by Hodder: a groundbreaking graphic novel about asylum seekers called Illegal. The trio’s next graphic novel, Global, will be released in 2022.

Eoin’s latest adult novel is Highfire, which is set up as a television series with Amazon Studios, produced by Nicolas Cage and MGM Television Studios.

Eoin was Ireland’s Children’s Laureate and still wears the medal at all times, even in the bath.
