Benedict was born in London, and started writing when he was 18 years old. He obtained a BA in Philosophy from the University of Cambridge, and became a client of Sophie Hicks whilst still a student. He had started writing children’s fantasy fiction, but his first book deal came from writing To Be a Ninja, which was children’s non-fiction.
Benedict then returned to fiction, and is now known for the Alex Versus series, which has also been released in the US, and received rave reviews. The final installament of this internationally bestselling series, Risen, will be published at the end of 2021.
As well as writing, Benedict has spent time working as an English language teacher, a civil servant, and a bouncer, and recently began training as a solicitor. He has travelled all over the world but currently lives in London.
